Our story
Child marriage is not just the loss of childhood; it is the loss of potential. It is as much a human rights issue as it is a social problem. But it is preventable, and that shapes everything we do.
Ripples of Hope (RoH) works to prevent child marriage by using the power of education and sport. Education brings awareness, curiosity, and the ability to both question and reason. Sport builds confidence, resilience, and the ability to withstand pressure. Together, sports and education serve as tools that give our girls the strength to be their own person.
RoH was established in early 2022 to advance the lives of marginalized adolescent girls in rural India by empowering them through sports and education. Our mission is to enable girls to reach their full potential and create safe spaces in local communities through the power of sports.
But it takes a village to raise a child. Real, lasting progress comes from within communities themselves. RoH works both with girls and their communities to herald change, one ripple at a time. Every marriage delayed is a girl empowered.
We play. We advocate. We educate. And we create change. We know there's a long way to go, but we won't stop until we get there!
